My shore lunch is cooked over an open fire and located on one of the many scenic shore lunch spots over looking the lake. I will have all the pans, grates, plates and utensils. I actually bring my own dry Pine for the fire so that we have a very hot fire.

First I heat the low fat oil and cook potatoes with onions and bacon pieces. Then it's time for the fresh fish fillets cooked for a couple of minutes on each side till they are golden brown. This is about the time the Seagulls and Bald Eagles start to gather, hoping for some leftovers and eyeing up the fish remains. I also have some canned beans or spaghetti to warm up on the fire along with some bread and sliced raw onion for my famous fish and onion sandwich.

For desert I have either some home made cookies or fruit cups. I also bring some tarter sauce for the fish and some ketchup for the potatoes. There is plenty of salt and pepper. Along with a nice cold water or soft drink, life does not get any better at that moment. After lunch and with your belly full, it's always a struggle to not have a nap. That is about the moment when you will hear, hey wake up it's time to go catch some more fishies.

This is an experience that every fisherperson should experience at least once in the beautiful wilderness environment of Northwestern Ontario.
